STRATEGY

Tom Fitzgerald is Senior Vice President of Research and Strategy for the Correspondent Division of SouthState Bank since 2009. Previously he spent 10 years as a Director and Senior Analyst in Fixed Income Research for the Debt Capital Markets Division of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. In his present capacity he writes extensively on macro-economic topics with a focus on the impact to community banks. In addition to this recent experience, Mr. Fitzgerald previously worked as a controller and financial officer for two community-based banking institutions managing their investment portfolios in addition to the usual controller/CFO functions.

Lelia Coggins specializes in serving financial institutions by analyzing holdings, sourcing offerings, identifying areas of risk and opportunity while developing investment strategies in line with the overall balance sheet composition, and facilitating trades in all sectors. Lelia began her career in fixed income in 2008 and prior to joining SouthState|DuncanWilliams, she worked in the Fixed Income division of Raymond James for eight years. During this time, she served three years as the Investment Strategist for their institutional asset management group, which manages depository investment portfolios in a fiduciary capacity and five years in institutional sales. Lelia received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Louisiana State University.
